About the Daikin POLARA™ Cooling Only
The Daikin POLARA Cooling Only (RKV outdoor, FTXV POLARA indoor) is the cooling-specialist version of the POLARA lineup. By removing the reversing valve and heat pump circuitry, the RKV outdoor unit is optimized purely for cooling performance in large spaces.
For Phoenix homeowners, heating capability in a large-space unit is often unnecessary — the POLARA Cooling Only provides the massive cooling output needed for a large garage or open space at a lower installed cost than the heat pump equivalent. In most Phoenix locations, even the mildest winter days rarely require mechanical heating in a garage or workshop.
The FTXV POLARA indoor wall-mount unit is shared between the heat pump and cooling-only configurations. At nearly 49 inches wide, it is one of the largest wall-mount indoor units available and is designed to match the substantial air volume that 30,000-36,000 BTU of cooling capacity demands.
Installation of the POLARA Cooling Only follows the same process as any mini-split — outdoor unit mounted outside, indoor unit mounted on the wall, line set run between them. Core Comfort HVAC handles everything from electrical to line set installation as part of our turnkey service.
