About the Daikin AURORA™ Ducted
The Daikin AURORA Ducted system pairs the RXP-AV outdoor unit with the FDMA-AV medium static horizontal ducted air handler. The FDMA sits concealed above the ceiling — typically in an attic space or ceiling cavity — and delivers conditioned air through short duct runs to one or more supply registers in the room below.
This installation style is ideal for room additions, converted garages, sunrooms, home offices, or any space where a wall-mount indoor unit would be visually intrusive. From the room's perspective, only the supply and return grilles are visible — the system is completely hidden.
The FDMA-AV unit has a medium static pressure capability, meaning it can push air through short duct runs effectively. It is not designed for extensive duct systems — for whole-home ductwork, a higher-static unit would be needed. For single-room or small multi-room applications with short duct runs, the FDMA is an excellent choice.
The RXP-AV outdoor unit is part of the AURORA series, delivering the cold-climate heating performance AURORA is known for. Our 10-Year Labor Warranty on installation workmanship transfers to this ducted configuration as well.
